slotsofun Posted 29 October, 2020 Share Posted 29 October, 2020 So what is going on with Pokerstars? First they set my account to cool off period for 1 week without my consent, which it took 3 weeks to get re-instated. Because I played for a "long" period. Now they have set a monthly deposit limit of $200 without my consent nor income evidence and I can't change without contacting support? Is this more UK bullshit regulations, or are pokerstars being pedantic? If it's requlations, I think Pokerstars casino is going to fall down the same route as Calzone and others in the UK and lose a huge customer base or withdraw from UK business. It's a nightmare. They didn't do this when I was depositing £1000's a few months ago. Link to comment
vanHooff Posted 29 October, 2020 Share Posted 29 October, 2020 Probably (interpretations of) regulations with regards to responsible gaming. 34 minutes ago, slotsofun said: If it's requlations, I think Pokerstars casino is going to fall down the same route as Calzone and others in the UK and lose a huge customer base or withdraw from UK business. Pokerstars is merging with / has merged with The Flutter Group (Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power, Betfair brands) . Others may elaborate how that may impact their UK casino business. Link to comment

I don't think it does, they are keeping them separate if I understand correctly - a self exclusion on pokerstars won't make you self excluded on Betfair and Paddy power for example. Link to comment
Teamkayenne Posted 29 October, 2020 Share Posted 29 October, 2020 I have a question. When you go to a landbased casino do they ask for SOW or anything like that ? I believe noooooo.... I'm really starting to believe that the regulatory bodies are setting up rules that really make the player go out and play to a landbased casino. Link to comment

Land based casinos have their own set of AML/KYC rules. Link to comment
JollyBhoyJohn7 Posted 30 October, 2020 Share Posted 30 October, 2020 UKGC setting all sorts of new guidelines for casinos it seems due to a rise in gambling from Covid-19 giving people a lot more free time. Link to comment
wertygo Posted 30 October, 2020 Share Posted 30 October, 2020 I have a same kind of problem with @LeoVegas_Support. I self excluded myself for 6 months. Then it took me over 3 months to open my account again just because they were soooo busy and I was in queque for 3 months. After contacting support for the billionth time and again manually answering all my sequrity questions I set up a call. Rep ask me how much I could afford to lose in a month. Totally lowballed it and said 500 euros to def get my account open again. It worked.. bazinga, but after logging in I somehow had accepted a 500 euro deposit limit. Yes ...deposit. Found it out later on after I withdraw many times but couldn't deposit anymore (overall on plus side a lot). It shows recklessness. There is a Wager loss limit possible but noooo. After the unlocking hassle I feel it's easier for me to not even contact support anymore as they even couldn't change my phone nr on record for several times. Worst thing is that I really like LV and support is quite good. That's how bad outsourced customer support is Link to comment
