TommyBhoy Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 Unreal, Watford are dancing with the devil. Surely there will be a backlash to this as they require zero KYC. 2 Quote Link to comment
vanHooff Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 (edited) Wow thanks for reporting this, now that is some big surprise, Premier League club too.https://www.watfordfc.com/news/club/official-watford-fc-stakecom-announce-new-multi-year-principal-partnership Because of the amounts involved I am pretty sure that Watford & Stake have looked into the legality of this, but I would think that only UKGC licensed operators are allowed to sponsor football teams / advertise on the UK gambling market? With Stake not being UKGC licensed and offering betting/gambling to British, I don't see this lasting long? Edited 22 July, 2021 by vanHooff Quote Link to comment
TommyBhoy Posted 22 July, 2021 Author Share Posted 22 July, 2021 They have a new site stake.co.uk registered. The issue is they allow all types of activity that the UKGC hate. Unless they stick with their Curacao license. Surely the UKGC will get wind of the no KYC policy though? Quote Link to comment

Unfortunately you see around stadiums and throughout clubs betting companies without ukgc licence one a few years ago had one on there shirt and some today still advertise on boards mainly Asian ones. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
vanHooff Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 ^^ Oh that is mildly surprising.https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/about-us/guide/what-we-regulate I imagine that Stake is not offering a gambling website to British people, but instead is going to offer other 'crypto-themed initiatives' on the UK website while 'leveraging the global appeal of the Premier League to drive awareness of the brand across the world' for the international gambling website? There are plenty of precedents of shirt sponsoring of teams that primarily target the international market rather than the domestic market. Maybe the UKGC advertising guidelines have to be changed to stop this sponsorship? Quote Link to comment

xLewis Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 funny how i called this a while ago that crypto casinos are going to become the new norm, stake already sponsor the UFC too. Just wait, other crypto casinos will soon sponsor other large companies Quote Link to comment
la_n_al Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 Wow, indeed this seems crazy. Seems to go completely against the grain of all of the strict regulations that have been implemented in relation to gambling there. Quote Link to comment

ryans_slots Posted 22 July, 2021 Share Posted 22 July, 2021 stake.co.uk is under aspire global limited licence, it will just be a normal casino with everything that the rest of the casinos in the UK market sow, kyc etc no bonus buys and the rest of the bs. there actually nothing wrong with ''stake'' it's the scumbags who promote it......... makes it a bad name.......... 48 minutes ago, TommyBhoy said: The UKGC will slaughter them if players are inside the UK playing with VPN They are.. it's BECAUSE of the UKGC with there 3 million different bs rules and regs, which drives casinos out of the UK market and drives players to these sites. the UKGC is the problem not stake lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
