Opinions on Evo's Funky Time

Recommended Posts

It's interesting to play as a new game, though i agree with others it doesn't feel as fun as Crazy Time, and payback potential seems alot more blunted.

The letters paying 25:1 is a good feature though the fact it's a 64 segment wheel layout & only other number is 1 means there's not many strats you can devise & apply to the game.

The only bonus round i really liked was Staying Alive. Bar just seems pointless, despite there being 6 segments of it, and both the Disco's seem really slow & it got quite boring when you can see that any extra moves are only going to land on another 1x - i can imagine a big bonus on Disco could go on for 20 minutes lol - it just bores on for so long, and definitely nowhere near as exciting as seeing CT wheel land a Double or Triple.

I think Funky Time is a decent proof-of-concept for the Digiwheel technology. The way multipliers are distributed on the wheel is clever and unlike Crazy Time, it allows for more than one betting space to get a multiplier. I'm not a fan of some of the design choices such as multiple clumps of '1' segments on the wheel and the entirely RNG-based "Bar" bonus. They also need to fix the ball hopper for the Stayin' Alive bonus - too many issues with the camera and the speed and the next ball in the queue getting spoiled.

Finally, I think there should have been a 5th bonus game that utilized the Digiwheel itself. What a HUGE missed opportunity to not have a fully digital wheel transform into a unique bonus game. Think of a live Crazy Time style wheel with jackpot multipliers, doubles, and triples that change every time.

The biggest disappointment is that this took 3 years after Crazy Time to come out. A company the size of Evolution should be releasing big wheel gameshows every year.

Oh man, i think the actual Digiwheel itself is an absolutely awesome piece of kit! It looks such slick & clean design! That was most enjoyable part of playing Funky Time for me, as i love cool, new tech.

And yep i agree that the potential for future games on those wheels will be really interesting to see!

I don't even think I'll bother playing it. There are too many betting spots, making the average person want to bet more.

I also don't care for the length of the Disco bonus games. Waiting like 12 minutes to hit an 8x isn't fun.

I think there should be a "top slot" on the arrows of that bonus game, letting the dancer move more than 1 spot at a time, and collecting the multipliers on the way. You could still have the same payouts but it would speed it up.

I totally agree - you feel like you need to cover more spots and the disco bonus is just too slow for little reward

@LordshipI gave it a try and ready to my conclusion.... Feels like.. You know when a man tells a woman I have a big pickle.... Then she has to use a magnifying glass to find it? Well this is how I feel 😂

Too many bonuses with no good outcome. Prefer less of them but with more exciting wins. Tho I like the fun side of it, with the music and all.

My casino VIP account manager told me it's not about the size of the bonus, it's about how i ride it 🤣🤣

This is the worst game ever. I haven't played a penny to it and not gonna play. Watching live on casinoscores now and then. This is also collecting rush hours, like all their wheel games.

There is 64 (or something?) areas where the flapper can hit. Crazy time has 54. You have to cover millions different bonuses to get that 8x, so one round cost average 4-8x your bet. So if you bet 5 areas and get 100x, you win basically 20x.

I don't know if this the new thing in casino gaming but you have to bet 20e to get that "big win". 10 years ago you had a chance with 1-2e bets, not anymore. Huge wins are 200x nowadays. Sad.

A 600x today. Anyone hit it? Anyone changed their opinion for funky time? I saw there was a 1250x on the 29th

I've been casually following CasinoScores stats on it and overall my opinion hasn't changed, though it's been interesting to see that alot of the big wins (including that 1250x) have been on the Letters segments.

My only new thoughts from seeing stats was i might well give it another try by playing just the 12 Letters only - i sometimes like playing wheel bonus games using systems that treat it like an Evens bet on Roulette. if you've got the bankroll then Martingaling the Letters looks like it can work ok for abit, though i would personally try D'Alembert on the Letters.

I used to enjoy playing systems on Monopoly & CT on number 2 with the aim of the Chance/Topslot increased payout opportunity making up for the fact you're getting less wheel coverage than usual roulette red/black, etc. Although Letters on Funky Time are only just over a 3rd of wheel coverage, i think the opportunity to land multipliers every spin & the fact they're multiplying on a base of 25x could be interesting on D'Alembert, plus what i liked on Mono & CT was you only have to play these systems till a big Chance/Topslot win lands, you don't need to come back down the steps to zero to see profit like you would if playing on normal roulette wheel.

Or from what I've seen of stats, even flat betting the Letters every round seems pretty ok strat, plus Letters would definitely be what i choose to play if i needed to beat any wagering requirements. Personally I'm still not swayed by the bonus rounds.
