casio Posted 26 April, 2023 Share Posted 26 April, 2023 A white paper, the result of a review launched in 2020, is due to be published on Thursday, after being postponed multiple times. Ministers will unveil plans intended to make gambling safer, following a string of high-profile cases where customers have suffered huge losses or taken their own lives. A 1% mandatory levy on industry revenues. Online slot machine stakes limited to between £2 and £15. Measures to slow down online casino games. Looser restrictions for land-based casinos. Government-run safer gambling campaigns. “Light-touch” affordability checks. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/apr/26/gambling-uk-white-paper-online-casinos 2 Quote Link to comment
Lordship Posted 30 April, 2023 Share Posted 30 April, 2023 stake limited to between 2 and 15 pounds. That makes it sound like the minimum bet will be 2 pounds, surely that's not the case? Quote Link to comment

Think it will be done by age and affordability. Quote Link to comment

ClarksonPowell Posted 10 May, 2023 Share Posted 10 May, 2023 (edited) I believe it is important to strike a balance between player safety and preserving the diversity and attractiveness of gaming venues. The proposed changes, if implemented, could affect the gaming industry and player choice. However, it is worth noting that the leaked information may not be complete or final, and there may still be changes to the proposed measures. I would recommend keeping an eye on official statements from the UKGC and other interested parties for more accurate and complete information about the proposed changes. Hopefully, any changes that are implemented will promote safe and responsible play, while keeping the gaming experience interesting and diverse. SheWontBite Posted 11 May, 2023 Share Posted 11 May, 2023 Those changes will have negative impact on gambling businesses which will definitely mirror onto customers. They'll have to limit payouts to make up the lost income. Although they might help many people with loosing shit of money.. Looks like soon people will be forced to play with Monopoly money. karlosthegr3at Posted 11 May, 2023 Share Posted 11 May, 2023 I mean they made fobts £2 max bet in bookies I can see them doing this for online uk players but I can't see them doing £2 to £15. But yea £2 max bet isn't out of the question. If it was they would be forcing ppl like me who is happy doing 20p spins to start doing £2 spins now that would be a very bad move for the ukgc Quote Link to comment
