Poker stars withdrawal policy

So apparently pokerstars now say you can’t withdraw your winnings until  48hours after your last deposit. How strange, is this legal?

I don't know if it is legal. But the same happend to me one year ago. For me pokerstars has the worst withdrawel time. I had been a member for a long time, i got some great hits so in total my withdrawel was about 3000€ on a 50€ deposit.

First like you i had to wait 48hours, when i made a withdrawal they asked me for additional verifikation. They used one week to verify me, Never send so many different document to same site, selfies with my passport, phone call with questions like "what slot you played last, what is the biggest win, what card you use for deposit. When my verifikation was done they cancel my withdrawel and asked me to do it again.

One week later i had my money, so in total over two weeks in total to get my money. They also had a strange withdrawel, some of the money showed like a cash back on my account (the deposit) and the remaining like a normal withdrawel.

You will get your money for sure, please don't gamble with your winnings

Hey Man i can put my life at risk for Pokerstars. Played there since 2007 their policy of 48 hours come from there. And once you are verified all the cashouts come pretty quickly on Skrill. Withdrawn almost 250k$ there along 13 years. Never had a single problem.

I have this too. And it doesn’t vary like some people have said. It’s always 48hours since last repost.

All it does is mean 80% of the time I spend what I was going to withdraw. Haha. My problem that I know.

But it’s surely encouraging people to gamble more when they can’t access their cash straight up?

I actually noticed this as well, I did some investigation and it appears that you get your deposits back using the same exchange rate used to originally deposit. However, anything above this amount uses a slightly lower exchange rate which I do find a bit dodgy, especially as they only ever allow you to convert your local currency into US Dollars without the option to instead use your local currency.

I withdrew $200 in total.

Credit back was for £41.34 (this is the amount i'd deposited), this was based on $52.83. This equates to an exchange rate of £0.792 to $1.

The remainder was sent as £115.11, this was based on the remaining $147.17 of the $200 total. This equates to an exchange rate of £0.782 to $1.

The difference is minimal but it shouldn't really exist in the first place. I don't doubt the legitimacy of Pokerstars and their intentions, they are a great business, but I do find this practice a bit shady. I'll also add that my withdrawals have never taken more than 24 hours (playing at Pokerstars UK).

I've have been playing on Pokerstars well over 10 years and for me they have had some kind of withdrawal delay policy (either 24h or 48h) as long as I remember. That being said I was pleasantly surprised when I did my last withdrawal there couple months ago and it was not delayed but was instead processed instantly. I don't know if this is permanent change that affects my withdrawals there, or if there was some criteria that was met for example smaller withdrawal, certain deposit method etc.. or if it was just a one time thing.

In general I think if they keep forcing this withdrawal time policy they could at very least have the option to lock the withdrawable amount as pending until the safe time is over and it gets processed. As it is it feels like they are intentionally or unintentionally giving the players extra time to lose the money they were about to withdraw.

Just to re-iterate that this is time since last deposit. If you want to play on pokerstars, always deposit 24 or 48 hours before you intend to play. That way cashouts will be instant. There are still tools to take a timeout for 12 hours, 24 hours and set a max bet protection to prevent you from losing too much if you can't wait for the cashout time.

When you can withdraw it is INSTANT processing of any deposited amount and then anything above your net total deposit goes for verification. If you have deposited $1000 by paypal over the years and you finally have a good session and go for an $800 cashout to paypal, this appears INSTANTLY in your paypal account. If you withdraw $1200, $1000 instantly goes to paypal and $200 goes for verification.

It is not a totally bad system but they are slow to verify so make sure you set max bet protection if you have to verify. You can easily remove this (pending 24 hour approval of the limit removal)

Last night I made a nice cash prize on my Pokerstars account. But i have one small problem. I wanna take it out but I wanna do it without my bank seeing it. Are there any tricks or tips people can suggest or am I stuck with putting it through the bank for them to see for future reference e.g. Seeing withdraws when asking for a loan?

Thanks, so sorry about the grammar!

This is super standard and has been for the last 15 years.

Legal and in line with the anti-moneylaundering regulations. Due to their main business is Poker, different rules apply - they added slots and casino later on and that's why people playing casino on the site are surprised by this.
